Most stores still have it in stock. Check stock by clicking <may be available near you>
The picture on their website is wrong, the display of 4 programmable messages is large, about 1/2 inch tall.

Got 1. Cool, but the fan is pretty weak. Not worth the 3 bucks.

Got one! It really blows

Actually sucks. Can not push the buttons hard enough to program. I finally get the first letter programmed, and then I give up. It may need opening to fix. I did get a second one, I may open the box and try that one.

eh, ok for $3.

Eh, you don't need to push too hard. There's a difference between push and push&hold.
The buttons do different things when you push or push&hold.
To start programming, turn on the fan, push&hold the middle button until you see a blinking cursor.
Pushing the top or bottom button cycle the available alphabets, numbers, and special characters.
Pushing&holding the top or bottom button cycle faster through the available alphabets, numbers, and special characters.
Pushing the middle button advances the blinking cursor.
Pushing&Holding the middle button saves the message after the cursor stops blinking.
You can store 4 messages. When one message is displayed, pushing the middle button selects the next message.

I think this message fan is cool and underpriced. I'm going back to RS get some more today.

Going to check if they have any left. Looks cool.

FYI, RadioShack online inventory is VERY inaccurate in my experience. Several times in the past, online inventory shows In-Stock. Only to have to drive a few miles to find out it is not. Has happened about 5 times already. Waste of gas and time. Perhaps others have had better experience than I have.

You can get the same thing in a computer case fan for $19 here:
http://www.heatsinkfactory.com/cooljag-programmable-led-flash-92mm-fan.html
It can even be set to display temperature.

But if plain red text just doesn't do it for you, look here:

Was walking by a RS yesterday and was curious to check if they had any. Rang up one and it came up at 97c, so I grabbed all the 4. Tried out one and it is definitely worth the $3 original clearance price. It would keep my son busy for sometime as he is learning to spell now and he loves to play with handheld fans. The rest will make nice gifts.

The link now says $0.97!

The batteries will cost more than that.

Four AAs cost $0.99 at 99-cent store. This fan needs only three to beat local warming.

I picked one up the other day at for 3 bucks at a pharmacy, I think it was a Rite-Aid. PITA to set up the messages, but cool to watch.
