I wanted to highlight a few new free magazine subscription offers for you:

Remedy Life Free 3-Yr. - I haven't gotten this free health & wellness magazine before, but I am curious to find out if it might have some informative articles in it and be a good source of coupons to use at CVS or Walgreens.

Cosmopolitan Free 4 issues - Offered by StartSampling, which is the best source of free magazine subscriptions. I've gotten every single free magazine I've requested from them and have never had a problem with getting automatic renewals or bills. It's easy to sign-up, and once you do all you have to do is log-in and your freebie will be mailed to you. This offer might be a regional one, I have heard from one Freebie Friday reader who did not see it showing up on StartSampling although it still appears for me.

More Free 1-Yr. - Offered by StartSampling, get your free 10 issue subscription before they are all gone! This magazine is targeted to women who are 40+.

Free magazines are popping up all the time, but some of the more popular titles are only available for a short time (less than a day). I am enjoying my free magazines, and I will no longer pay for magazine subscriptions. One exception that I make is for All You, but between the reader survey and the coupons that magazine has already paid for itself for me.

What am I doing with my magazines after I'm done browsing them, reading the articles of interest, and clipping the money-saving coupons in them? Sometimes I will leave my magazines in the doctor's office if that is where I am when I finish browsing and if they are lacking in their magazine selection. I also donate magazines to a charity that collects magazines to circulate among the waiting rooms of local hospitals and other public places in my community. If I am making a donation to a charity that is specifically for moms & their children then I will try and include a parenting magazine. I have also donated magazines to my local library where they sell them at 10 cents each to raise money for special projects.

Earthbound Farm Reusable Tote - I got this great tote from Earthbound Farm. The package also included a pocket guide to choosing organic and $1.75 in coupons (expire 5/31/09). This is a freebie I told you about on Freebie Friday on April 4. The tote is no longer available to request, but here are some other freebies from from Earthbound Farm:

Enough about Earthbound Farm - here's what else showed up in my mailbox this week:

Bausch & Lomb Alaway eye drops - I got a sample of 0.03 oz. eye drops in the mail. This free sample is available again at Coupons.com, you can request two per household, and it comes with a coupon to Save $5 on Alaway (a much better coupon than the $2 and $3 coupons out there). This free sample is a perfect example of how the coupons you get with free samples are often higher value than the coupons you can print or get in the newspaper inserts. Here's my blog post.

Gillette Oil Control Face Wash + Body Wash - I got my 1.7 oz. sample in the mail, it's exactly the same as the bottle you can buy in the travel section of Walmart for 79 cents. No coupon, but this free sample is still available to request. Here's my blog post from May 26.

American Baby - You can get this free mini-magazine from Parents as well!

Woman's Day magazine (August 1 issue) - Did you get this magazine too? My free subscription came from Mercury Magazines. If you turn to page 115 you might see a familiar blogger mentioned - The Centsible Sawyer! Congratulations Denise!

Family Circle - I must have requested this free subscription before I started keeping track of them.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser - I got my 0.17 oz. sample pouch in the mail. This free sample is no longer available to request. Here's my blog post from March 24 - I waited over 3 months for this one!

Carnation Family Favorites - I requested this recipe booklet last fall. So - it took over 9 months for them to mail it to me? This really must be the longest I've ever waited to get a freebie in the mail - sometimes the free things take a long time to get. It is a great recipe book - 40 pages with a color photo of each recipe. No longer available to request - here's my blog post.

Piggies 'n Pancakes - Not the healthiest of freebies, but we were curious to try these corndog-style sausages in pancakes on a stick. I got a coupon to try a package for free (up to $6.99) and found them at Walmart. A few of my readers might have also gotten this freebie, it was only available for a short time, here's my blog post from June 5.

HEBuddy - If you are curious about the stuffed dog "Max" and grocery bag "HEBuddy" in the photo, these are freebies sent to my boys by HEB. Shopping at HEB is a real treat for them because they get a balloon when we walk in the door and they get to play the crane game after we check out and collect the points to redeem for prizes (we don't have to pay shipping, just mail in our points). We also got the light-up curly straws, which my boys promptly broke, but they provided some entertainment.

Publix has a great daily instant win game called "i8free" but it is only available for residents of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina , and Tennessee (states with Publix stores). Angie at Baby Cheapskate just shared a new site with me called Totlol. It's a community-moderated website that shows YouTube clips, but it's designed for viewers aged 6 months to 6 years. I think it will be another great tool in my mommy toolkit for providing some entertainment for my toddlers. I like that you can search by keyword so you can find something related to what your kids are interested in at that time, or what they are learning about.

What other sources of free online videos and movies for kids are there?

Storyline Online - excellent videos of books read aloud by actors

Sesame Street - hundreds of videos, search by character or keyword

Hulu - Family and Kids category is worth checking out for free movies

Disney XD - showing a new free movie each week, Peter Pan is in the line-up!

Print a coupon to Save $2 on Honey Bunches of Oats Just Bunches! cereal. Look for the red button that says "Get $2 off" in the bottom right-hand corner. It's a Smart Source coupon, so I had to fire up my Mozilla Firefox browser. I was only able to print the coupon once, and it expires July 23. Update: I bought this cereal at Walmart for $2.62! I also have heard that there are some ads showing up across the web for this coupon, and that some people are able to print again by clicking on the ad. Keep your eyes peeled, but I will not be sending you on a wild goose chase to find these ads because they require refreshing over and over again with hopes it will appear (and for me it often never does).

What am I going to do with my free peanuts? I'll be making Pad Thai - noodles with peanut sauce, sprinkled with chopped peanuts and a squeeze of lime.

Walmart Freebies 4 Mom: Happy 4th!

As you prepare for the upcoming Independence Day Holiday, you might find yourself making a shopping trip to Walmart. If you do and are seeking some festive t-shirts for your kids or yourself, why not look for the $2 and $3 patriotic t-shirts that Way More 4 Less discovered at her Walmart! What Can You "Buy" for FREE or really cheap???
A surprising number of things! But it takes matching up the coupons with the sales or low prices. Go visit the blogs in the resources list below for help doing this. Price matching is a great way to get the sales prices from other stores at Walmart. Go visit Groceries 4 Less where Jamie is making price matching at Walmart work for her!

There's a new freebate out that you might be interested in - BUNdinos - and you'll gain 50 cents if you have the coupon from All You (ok, so that covers your postage).

You might want to take the $3 Planters coupon to Walmart if you normally are buying Kraft, Nabisco, or Oscar Meyer products. I used it at Kroger to add some free peanuts to my cart. Walmart is also the best place to take the $2 Kashi Vive cereal coupon to reduce the price at least 50%. Wish-Bone Bountifuls dressing is also a deal at Walmart, use the $1 Wish-Bone Bountifuls coupon to pick up for less than half-price hopefully. Coupons.com is always a great site to visit for printable coupons and I'll bring you an update tomorrow morning on what's new.

Sesame Street Flash Back

Sesame Street is on my mind because there is a new issue of the Sesame Street magazine (June/July) to download. I like to save the PDF to my computer so my 3-year old can browse it online with me. If there is an activity sheet we want to put crayon to paper for - we will print only that page.

Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A

Mark your calendar because Friday, July 11 is Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A, where you get rewarded for dressing like a cow. It's usually on July 13, but this year that lands on a Sunday when they are closed. I've heard that some stores are even having a "Costume Prep Party" where they are helping you make your costume.

"Last year we were able to get free meals (adult combo, 3 kids) just by putting black dots (cut-out circles colored with black Sharpie) on our face and hands. I think we were supposed to get free fries but they gave us meals instead!"

Where can you buy it? I'm hearing that my readers have spotted this new product at Walmart ($2.77 @ my Walmart), Safeway, Albertsons, Vans, Wegmans, and Hyvee, so print a few coupons and walk by the milk section if you are shopping at any of these stores! It doesn't seem like you would get it a second time since it's the same offer - but it's been three months since the last time this sample was offered so maybe you can?

All I do know is that these free samples won't last for long - the Walmart samples are getting hotter and hotter as more people find out about the best free sampling program around!
