Career-obsessed mothers have given rise to a whole new genre of nip and tuck.

The “Mommy Makeover” is on the fast track, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) said yesterday. The procedure offers a triple combination — tummy lift, breast augmentation and breast lift — for women who want their figure back, and pronto.

Popularity is way up.

“The 11 percent increase over 2005 statistics in ‘Mommy Makeover’ procedures is more than five times higher than the growth of overall cosmetic plastic surgery procedures (2 percent) during the same time period,” the ASPS said.

“In this day and age, women are giving birth later, returning to their careers sooner and have busier schedules than ever before. Many are finding cosmetic plastic surgery to be the answer to returning to a pre-pregnancy shape they are comfortable with,” said Dr. Roxanne Guy , a Florida-based plastic surgeon and president of the society.

More than 325,000 of the maternal makeover combos were performed on women ages 20 to 39 last year, according to new statistics.

Men, meanwhile, are not rushing under the knife. In the past two years, the number of assorted cosmetic procedure performed on males has dropped by 7 percent since 2005, with “nose reshaping” the most popular, followed by eyelid surgery, liposuction and hair transplants. With more than a million cosmetic procedures last year, men constitute less than 9 percent of cosmetic surgery patients, according to the ASPS.

Facelifts for men are down by 39 percent since 2000, liposuction by a third. Male breast-reduction surgery, however, is up by 22 percent in that time period.

The ladies present a different profile. The number of cosmetic procedures performed on women has risen 9 percent in the past two years, with breast implants in the lead, followed by liposuction, nose reshaping and eyelid surgery. With almost 10 million cosmetic enhancements, women make up more than 90 percent of the patient population.

The number of breast lifts has risen by 96 percent in the past seven years, the number of breast augmentations by 55 percent.

Such numbers resonate in the business. Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery — adjacent to Chanel, Dior and Tiffany & Co. in Beverly Hills, Calif., — has opened the nation’s first Breast Augmentation Information Center within the 5,000-square foot, boutique-style office.

“We designed our center to combine the convenience of storefront shopping with what I call the ‘Four Seasons treatment,’ ” said director Dr. Lloyd M. Krieger, who offers patients advice on a “lifestyle overhaul,” including hairstyle and spa treatments.

Other procedures also are making a big splash.

The number of “lower body lifts” — surgical reshaping and tightening of abdomen, derriere, thighs and hips — has risen by 4,887 percent since 2000, with “upper arm lifts” a close second, rising by 4,304 percent. Buttock lifts have grown by 174 percent, tummy tucks by 133 percent and thigh lifts by 132 percent. Pectoral implants have grown by 99 percent, calf augmentation by 49 percent.
