The Who Rock Rock Band 2 at E3
LOS ANGELES -- Who said that E3 parties are dead?
MTV and Harmonix threw pretty much the best E3 party ever Wednesday night at the Orpheum Theater, where something like a thousand journalists, executives, and other game-industry types were treated to two hours of Rock Band 2 gameplay, and then nearly two hours of music by surprise guests The Who. The rockers have several songs available in Rock Band, including "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Pinball Wizard," both of which they performed during their set.
While Roger Daltrey (pictured) and Pete Townshend were blithely aware that they were playing a corporate event, and poked gentle fun at game makers during their set, the crowd loved it and they played with absolutely no reservations. Townshend even cut his finger at one point and kept shredding.
"Thank fuck for you lot," said Daltrey at one point. "Thank fuck for anything where music's gettin' heard."

I had to just comment on your great photos Chris. The top and bottom ones look fantastic.

Also, as an aside. I was at the movie theatre and they have a gaming boutique set up. One of the huge plasmas was continuously playing a demo from Insomnia.

You're freaking in it! I was shocked and had to check again, but there is Chris Kohler throwing something at some guy and then looking something akin to the Joker - there was madness in your eyes.

Is it weird knowing you're on some TV in Oz, being continuously played for passers-by?
