  • Glu, Sega Europe Partner For Beijing 2008, Sonic at the Olympic Games [06.18.08]
  •  San Mateo, CA-based publisher Glu Mobile has announced a partnership with Sega Europe to publish Beijing 2008 - The Official Mobile Phone Game of the Olympic Games and Sonic at the Olympic Games throughout Europe, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East.

    Developed by Sega, Beijing 2008 includes four events from the Olympic Games -- 100m, Hammer Throw, 200m Freestyle (swimming), and table tennis. The title also features control schemes designed for both novices and experienced gamers alike, as well as 32 different participating countries.

    Sonic at the Olympic Games will have four playable characters from Sega's popular Sonic the Hedgehog series, such as Sonic and Tails, and will allow players to complete in five different events -- 1500m, 400m Hurdles, Triple Jump, Discus Throw, and Javelin Throw.

    Said Sega Europe marketing director Gary Knight: “Combining an enjoyable game with a truly global sporting license will provide a fantastic sports game experience for gamers everywhere. We’re extremely happy to continue our thriving partnership with Glu which continues to deliver fantastic franchises for the mobile phone game format.”
