We've just added support to Google Finance for Hong Kong Stock Exchange listings. In addition to news and descriptive data (which we already offer for these listings), you'll now see intra-day data and pretty charts. You can search for companies by name using the search box. You can also search by ticker -- for example, if you'd like to find the current price for stock in Hutchison Whampoa, you can search for it by name, as 0013.HK, or as HKG:0013.
Note: While we've added support for Hong Kong equities, we haven't yet added support for the Hang Seng indices. We're working on adding Hang Seng support, and will announce it here as soon as it's available.
Thanks for using Google Finance! As always, if you find any problems, please let us know.

The addition of another stock exchange is great news. But I really wish some essential things would be completed on existing exchanges before you move on to new ones. You still don't have dividend information for Canadian stocks. And you're missing that information for Hong Kong stocks too - the example you give, Hutchison Whampoa, has a dividend of HK$1.22 according to their website but has no dividend according to Google Finance!!!
That, and the fact we can't turn-on Bollinger Bands in the graph stops from using Google Finance.
The Hong Kong stock codes changed from 4-digit to 5-digit.
Great news! Would like to see a customized homepage too!
Awesome! I am waiting it for so long.
I thought there might be some acknowledgement of an almost universal thumbs down of your 'redesigned' page at http://googlefinanceblog.blogspot.com/2008/04/new-home-page-and-new-country.html

When will we see the ability to do Technical Analysis with your loggen in profile and save charts and notes etc? That would be truly amazing and make google finance beat the heck out of yahoo and provide a platform that would also draw more active traders over like those using bigcharts and stockcharts etc. I miss the ability to click som sort of advanced button and play with a host of TA tools that I use as an addition to my own fundamentals research.
If google could also do candlesticks plots that would be truly a giant leap forward for online stock info everywhere.
Though the link with blogs etc that's on the page people could analyse the stocks etc, both fundamentals and with TA which would make for a really exciting community. It could be through the discussions platfor there and give peopel the ability to add the charts in either a regular or special part of the discussions page and do their own analysis???
Just a few thoughts.
still waiting for brazilian stock exchange (bovespa)...
Some of the stocks such as SENSEXINDIA ETF (2836.HK) and A50CHINATRACKER (2823.HK) cannot be found in Google Finance.

As barry said, some of the stocks are not available in Google Finance, such as HKG:0945 (Manulife) and HKG:1186 (China Railyway Construction) [HKG:1186 can be searched but cannot be entered into My Portfolio]. It would be nice if My Portfolio can use these stocks.
Glad to see Google Finance supports Hong Kong stock, but the important Hong Kong stock index hasn't supported yet. Will be perfect if include HK index and iGoogle gadget can select Hong Kong with all popular indexes in Hong Kong market.
I don't think Hang Seng Index is that important. Fix those missing stock data first!
Thanks...
Very useful blog...

Is it true that the historical data only go back as far as 2007? This range seems to be the same for every stock.
yahoo just started real time quotes. Any change Google might also start providing this service?
When do customize Hong Kong version of Google Finance will come out??
