Good Day
Yesterday was a good day… Nay!, a Blessed Day… The Lord has been good to me… even though at often times I had failed him…
They always say that the Bible is overflowing with examples of how God Loves us. Yet while reading the Bible I have noticed that all those examples of God’s Infinite Love is but His reaction to us failing Him.
I told my wife that after that Healing Mass I attended by accident there has been a very profound change in my Spiritual Life. (I realize now that that was no accident as God had conspired to make sure that I attend that healing mass, and he too made it known to me that it was His will that I be there to accept the Holy Spirit.)
I have become more vocal of my Faith. More aware of the simple Blessings I have received, and more aware of the sins I’ve committed. You think all along that what you are doing is right because you do no wrong and do no harm, but sometimes not doing anything is a sin in itself.
I once personally knew of a man who was Blessed by the Lord so much that his harvest was always bountiful, his cup always full. There were times when the region was experiencing a drought yet his area was always blessed with rains that made his harvest good compared to the other farms. During the war, all his children survived, even when a bomb landed on their safe house and all the other inhabitants were lost. An acquaintance once said that this man really wasn’t a good businessman and yet his businesses flourished.
All this because his Faith and Devotion to the Lord was strong. In idle times he would always pray. Given a lull in his daily life, he would always fill it with prayer. He also attended Mass and received Communion daily. Yet despite all this he still failed at one thing, to pass on this faith and devotion to his children.
It’s quite sad really, when children are born into wealth and privilege, that they neglect to remember that all that opulence was due to their parents devotion to their Faith. So as the Lord Giveth, the Lord shall Taketh Away.
