Nine More Pirates Captured

The crackdown of piracy continues.
The U.S. Navy has seized nine suspected pirates in the Gulf of Aden after a merchant ship reported being fired upon.
In a statement from the 5th Fleet's Bahrain headquarters, the Navy said Thursday that the Indian-flagged Premdivya said it was fired on by people in a skiff.

A helicopter from an American ship fired two warning shots at the skiff to keep it from fleeing.

U.S. authorities found weapons on the skiff. The suspected pirates were brought on board the U.S. ship.

American authorities on Wednesday arrested seven suspected pirates in the Gulf of Aden.
I believe it is fair to suggest the training phase of the operations off Somalia has concluded. This is an active pirate hunting operation now. More of this.

More details here.
