After our adventure in Langley with the Segway, we decided that we should get a bunch of scooters and terrorize Vancouver. I’m sure the sight of seeing five guys on 50cc scooters is enough to put the fear of God into anyone!

We showed up at Cycle BC at 10AM in the morning. It was a great day to go Scooter riding. Normally, I wouldn’t ride a scooter on a road shared with cars because the car always win in a head to head. However, since the Dot Com lifestyle allows us to ride while most are locked up in an office working, we practically had the roads all to ourselves.

We spent an entire day riding the scooters all over Vancouver. We hit Stanley Park, UBC, Spanish Bank, Robson Street, Gas Town, China Town, Coal Habour, etc. We had a great time beeping the horn at everybody and waving to them.

The full day of riding only consumed about 1 gallon of gas from the 150MPG two wheelers. The day went by with only one incident. Like he did on the Segway, Michael Kwan crashed his scooter. It’s a wonder he can balance on his two legs.

Thats the way to pass a west coast summer day! Maybe an ‘underpowered but efficient transportation’ blog is called for. If it became trendy it could be a successful blog plus do the world a favor. Great video!

That is too funny. We have real bikes (Harley Fatboy) and 13 of of us terrorized Austin. It was great. A lot louder than scooters. lol

You mean you’d want to rent a scooter and ride in this?

Dot Com Scooter Gang would all be in the Hospital if we rode in India.

You should keep Michael Kwan off the two-wheeled vehicles. What if something happens to him? Who will write the reviews for JohnChow.com?

Hey John, That’s funny that you made this post. I’m researching right now to buy a scooter to work. My timeline is within 2 months I’ll have my 50cc.

I think in two months, it will be Fall, and cold, and if you’re not riding now, you’ll find it harder to get into the groove. I do plan to ride my Yamaha C3 through the Fall and maybe Winter if it doesn’t snow.

I rode my own Scooter for Dot Com Scooter Gang ;)

I think I need another year before enjoying the dot com life style on its full potential. Today I still spend most of the day in front of the computer, fortunately making money for myself.

The idea of working my whole life on a 9 to 5 job just to retire and die always scared the hell out of me.

I can’t believe you can just go ahead and hire scooters over in Vancouver. To ride one here (UK) there are all sorts of lessons and tests you have to do.

Fantastic video though. There’s something about scooters that are just very relaxing and chilled. Very free spirit. :)

    Dot Com Scooter Gang 2008…

During the fun Dot Com Pho lunch last weekend, the usual Dot Com Crew decided it would be a good idea to form our very own chapter of a scooter gang. This included myself, Stephen, John, Gary, and Mike.
We were worried about Mike falling off his scoote…

Outstanding video. Looked like a lot of fun. Makes me want to get on my Suzuki Burgman and go for a spin near the beach where I live. Not sure about that food though.

Isn’t riding on two wheels so much fun. Even though it’s a scooter and not a motorycle it is still a blast. It sounded like your scooter gang had a great time terrorizing Vancouver.

I think Kwan should stick to walking and stay away from anything with a motor.

You guys had way too much fun!
If gas keeps going up I might end up trying this out for size here in Florida, only problem is it’s like 90 degrees plus all summer.
I’ll keep dreaming of a dot com lifestyle for now!
