More than half of the young adult respondents said the church needs to move faster to empower laypeople in ministry. Bishop Blase Cupich, keynote speaker at the Leadership Roundtable in 2007, welcomed the results: "We are heartened at their level of interest, and we need to find ways to translate this attraction into active ministry that our church urgently needs."
