Yes! Brian Roberts!
Uribe's slide was definitely a good baseball play, and that's just the type of thing Ozzie adores.

“Juan Uribe, partially on the strength of a great takeout slide, still has life with the White Sox.”
Yeah, ya know a team is doing a great job if such a decision could be influenced by one play… “well, he cant do anything right and is really hurting the team ~ but on the other hand he did make a nice slide at 2B yesterday”… Yeah, I dont see it…
“Nick Piecoro reminds us that the D'Backs were close to acquiring Cliff Lee in a deal for Carlos Quentin this winter. That would just be unfair, Lee as a part of that rotation. Ken Davidoff notes that the Mets discussed Lee as well.”
…Interesting. Wonder which side ended up backing down on the Lee/Quentin deal… Shoot, at the time I was willing to do Lee/Shoppach/Prospect for Bay. Funny how things work out…

Ramon Castro is off the DL so Raul Casanova has been DFA. Not much, but he could catch on somewhere as a backup catcher, calls a good game, throws well and has a little bit of pop from both sides of the plate. Maybe he just goes across town to the Bronx for a couple weeks.

Too bad the Dodgers signed Bennett. Casanova would probably have been a better choice to watch Russell Martin.

The Cardinals were also rumored in a deal that was to involve Lee and Peralta this winter.

Hanley Ramirez signs for six-year, $70 million contract.
This sucks.

"This"?

I wouldnt really consider a Lee/Quentin trade unfair, if it actually happened. Quentin is playing very well, and so is Lee. Thats fair, but of course, if the trade went down, and Lee pitched as well as hes doing now, the D'Backs rotation would be the best

“I wouldnt really consider a Lee/Quentin trade unfair, if it actually happened. Quentin is playing very well, and so is Lee.”
…Don’t disagree, but which one do you think falls off the pedestal first?

HA!
Anyone who thought Hanley was going anywhere is stupid. Been sayin' so for months now; with their new stadium deal, they wanted to keep Ramirez in the fold and focus on building a contender instead of just selling off talent. 'Bout time.
Lee in 'Zona would've been absurd, fair or not.
Roberts/Cubs...just can't get myself to care anymore...and I'm an O's fan. Much as I think we should trade Roberts, I just don't think we match up well with the Cubs. Gallagher looks nice, but I'm still not sold on Cedeno or Veal. Guess we'll see in the long run.
More importantly, Tim has GOT to stop posting interesting links...to Insider articles on ESPN or BA. Such a friggin' tease! If I were an Insider, I wouldn't NEED a link!!!
