KICK ASS - Jamaa Fanaka Director's Master Workshop

On July 3rd in Austin, Penitentiary Director Jamaa Fanaka (who I wrote about here) is heading a director's master class- A bottom-up workshop on how to take a production from conception, to post, to distribution. Even if you have finished film school you'll benefit from hearing Fanaka speak, he's charming and full of incredibly useful information. The night before, Mr. Fanaka will be back at Weird Wednesday with his film Emma Mae. I was lucky enough to get to sit next to him during his screening of Penitentiary last year and he made a big impression on me, enough that I consider him a filmmaking role-model.
