LA Quake, A Reminder to Get Shaking

The recent earthquake we experienced in Los Angeles left my family pretty rattled. In my single days, I used to unravel completely at quakes, and even went so far as to start packing up my apartment in one's aftermath, before my neighbor convinced me to stay put.

Angelenos live in denial when it comes to earthquakes. Or maybe I'm wrong, and the reason the energy here is so frenetic is because deep down everyone is shivering in their flip flops?

Whatever the case, we have no excuse to not be prepared. Now that I have a little girl to protect, I take my preparedness responsibilities much more seriously.

So, I'd like to remind readers of the post I wrote on Sunlight Solar's BoGo flashlights. These flashlights are lightweight and their batteries are charged by sunlight. One day of charging in the sun will provide 6-8 hours of light.

In addition to keeping your world illuminated in the event of a power outage, when you purchase a BoGo light, one is donated to a poverty stricken person who desperately needs a light source.

I know it's not fun to think about disaster preparation, so think of it this way, when you buy yourself one of these lights, you're brightening someone else's world.
