Tokyo Godfathers.

I chanced on this gem; it's so silly and heartwarming. A hobo, a transvestite, and a runaway (all homeless) find an abandoned baby on christmas night, and try find her parents. Japanese animation, was a nice film.
I love this one.  I'm trying to get a hold of "Paprika," another of Satoshi Kon's films, but I'm not really having any luck.

Fwah, as in the dvd? I saw it in a store the other night! ..I'm pretty sure I did, anyway.

forgetting sarah marshall.

it was actually pretty funny, but i think because it was a free movie and i got to sit in the 'gold class' recliner sofas. unfortunately, my sofa did not recline at all and i was a bit crabby and wanted some compensation. poo.

Iron Man. It rocked. I'm sure if Chris was watching with me he'd let me know how it strayed from the comic books, but since I watched the movie with no real expectations, I loved it. I love Robert Downey, Jr. and thought he was awesome, and Jeff Bridges was cool, and Terrence Howard...yum. And Paul Bettany's voice! Fun movie. Loved the Stan Lee cameo, as usual. After a little Wiki-ing, I realize there were a few moments in the movie that would make those that read the comics quite happy. [ Stay until after the credits. I had a good laugh. No one else in the theater seemed to get it, though. ]

Also saw Nim's Island a few days ago. The movie ended abruptly for me. I thought there'd be more. I love Gerard Butler and he can do no wrong in my eyes, so loved him. Fun watch.

first 15 minutes of cloverfield on a 27" tv made me nauseous . . . and then the storyline of trying to get to the girl he loves who's trapped in a fallen building made me finally vomit.

that bad for you, eh?  did you see bourne ultimatum.  that was a pretty "moving" experience too.  Wink

ok, my recent list of films seen...

The Orphanage - from the director of Pan's Labryinth
27 Dresses - a cute romantic comedy
Fatal Attraction - worst case scenario, cheating on wife
Live Free Die Hard - a decent action film, good hacker movie
Monsoon Wedding - loved it even more, a surprisingly touching film

ah, cyn!  i remember you mentioned this movie before.  okay, i confess it made me cry.  it's a pretty scary movie in the psychological thriller sense, and it was very well filmed.  the kind of tension similar to pan's labryinth.  but in the end it was very sad (also like in pan's labryinth).  a great movie, actually.

now i just recently read that guillermo del toro will be directing The Hobbit.  that is going to be awesome.

ok, just went to the official 'orphanage' site:  http://www.theorphanagemovie.com/

Just saw that too. It was indeed good. Saw it with a group of about 8 that made me stay to watch the outtakes after the credits.

Iron Man was one of my favorite comics growing up, and I have to say that Jon Favreau and RD Jr. did a stellar job. I couldn't be happier. I loved the ending, and sure enough, none of the Thai folks knew what to make of it (had to explain to the wife)

The Ten - ok this was an odd one.  Mix together 1 part strangers with candy, one part Reno 911, and a splash of south park.  and jessica alba ISSOHOT.
