On the way back from Sanibel Island we took the "Alligator Alley" to get form the west to the east Florida coast and since Alligator Alley sounded like fun we decided to use that highway. On that highway that nature reserve access and we decided to walk around one (with our flip flops on).

First we had to go through this gate (free of charge) to keep those crazy alligators in.

Sniff, sniff … I smell Alligators!

And here is one … honestly we never thought we are going to see one and it was just really random. Mike looked over the water edge and there was some movement, so we took a closer look and there was one. We were so excited. I took my picture and we left that cute thing alone again. Good thing we did:

Never disturb nests or small alligators. Some female alligators protect their young and may become aggressive if provoked. A baby alligator should never be captured, even if the mother is not visible. She may be watching you and decide to take action to protect her baby. Source

I am totally freaked out right now ….. I feel like screaming! LOL
