Big Brother 9: Sharon Nominated After James Wins Veto!

April 1, 2008 09:24:52 by Ryan Haidet

bb9-sharon-cast-photo-resized.jpgA milestone had been reached in the house recently.  The seven remaining players have lasted more than 50 days in the house.  And Day 50 was a big one.  Nominations were made as Natalie, the Head Of Household, put James and Joshuah on the chopping block.  Without question, the whole house was targeting James and wanted him to be the one going home in this week’s eviction.

Joshuah was scared since this was his first time as a nominee.  Ryan and Sharon reassured him that everything would be fine as long as James didn’t win the Power Of Veto.  Meanwhile, Sheila gave James a pep talk in the sauna.  Moments later, James went to sleep and Sheila went into the kitchen and gave Joshuah one as well.  But James overheard her and decided to head on out to the kitchen himself.  He kept his cool – at least for that moment.

James went back to sleep as Sheila went outside and continued to talk against the pink-haired nominee.  Adam went in the house and told James what was going on.  Without putting his pants on, he stormed outside and got in a screaming match with Sheila.  The problem with this whole argument – it’s hard to take an angry, screaming man with pink hair and in his underwear seriously.

After that explosion, James went in the house and argued with Natalie and Ryan about being alone.  He was so upset that he was targeted so hard and left to fend for himself after Chelsia’s eviction.  It was hard to watch James get swallowed up by the game – it seemed he couldn’t take it any longer.  Later that night, he was in the kitchen with Joshuah and he cried as he tried to describe his frustrations.

big-brother-9-james-courtesy-cbs.jpgNo more time for tears, though, as the veto competition had arrived.  Having selected players at random to join the HOH (Natalie) and two nominees (James and Joshuah), Ryan, Sheila and Sharon were in the battle to win the power.  The group went outside to find a bunch of random items like a giant gumball machine filled with rubber balls and a house of cards.  The goal of the game was to guess how many of each item there was.  The first player to get three guesses correct would win the POV.  And in a twist of fate that almost seemed inevitable – James, the biggest target in the house, won the POV for the third time in a row.

After the competition, James went into his room and danced while Joshuah went into his and sobbed.  Sharon was also very upset and started to cry over the situation.  They knew what was going to happen.  James would use the POV on himself and Natalie would put Sharon up for eviction next to Joshuah.  As Sharon’s tears fell in the bathroom, Sheila now gave her a pep talk, with Joshuah deciding to take his fate into his own hands.  He went up to the HOH bedroom and asked Natalie to spare him this week from eviction.  She said she would break a tie in his favor on eviction night if he could get two others to vote against Sharon.

But first, the veto meeting.  Predictably, James used it on himself and Natalie placed Sharon in his spot.  Once again, the biggest target in the house had saved himself.
