Mueller takes Rd4 of Swiss 1/8th Nats

Mueller takes Rd4 of Swiss 1/8th Nats

Last weekend saw the 4th round of the Swiss 1/8th scale Championship take place on the Lostallo track, host of this months European 1/8th scale Championships, and our man Mattia Pesenti was once again in action with his Novarossi powered Motonica and he has provided us with this report.

Saturday was a really warm day, about 35 degrees, good traction but not so many drivers maybe because of holiday. The biggest problem for all was the fuel comsuption and everybody work on it with different mufflers, harder tyres, etc. Personally I tried 4 or 5 different types of muffler and manifolds but the problem was: LESS fuel consumption LESS power!

I tried to do the 15laps in the first two rounds of qualifying with a less powerful muffler but I was too slow! Just Lackner Shasa hadn’t problem with the fuel comsuption doing the 15laps without any problem, Mueller Marco had to refuel at the last lap and he did 15 laps too. Loris also did it in the last one!Unfortunately in the last round of qualifying I found the right combination of muffler and manifold but I had some problem on carburating the engine and I finished 4th.

Top 4 qualify:
1. Lackner Shasa (Mugen – Novarossi – UFRA)
2. Pierroz Loris (Kyosho – Sirio – Enneti)
3. Mueller Marco (Mugen – Novarossi – UFRA)
4. Pesenti Mattia (Motonica – Novarossi – PMT)

Sunday:
Until 2-3pm was another warm day then sometimes the rain fell down but the final was on a dry track. During the morning we had the Top4 practice and I set the best lap of the weekend in 20.648, a great time with that temperature!! The car and the engine were really good and fast!!

We started the final at 5.30pm, but I started with an engine a little bit too rich and I wasn’t so fast at the beginning and Marco Mueller took the lead with a good gap of half a lap. I battle with Lackner for 15minutes and then he made a mistake at the end of the straight. I tried to be faster but Muller was really fast also witht very little tyres.

Marco did a perfect race! Fast and without mistake!! Congratulations!!!
