Fire Damages Gervais Home

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

(GERVAIS, Ore. ) - Woodburn Fire District responded to a report of a house in Gervais on Friday.

When fire crews arrived they found a 2 story single family home with heavy smoke coming from the back of the structure.

The crews quickly extinguished the fire.

The fire was discovered by a Gervais Police officer who noticed smoke near the police station.

When the officer went to investigate he located a house on Third street with heavy smoke coming from the back of the structure.

Woodburn Fire District responded with 3 engines, ladder truck and an air truck.

The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire and the owner had been remodeling the house.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
