Unclutterer

Clearly this issue is big time on my mind.
Especially when I was trying to put away and relocate items on the desk so we could pull it out and paint behind it.
I need less stuff.
I just read the best article ever about decluttering--maybe because it hit every single thing I have a problem with. All four things the lady (Danielle LaPorte) addresses--they're exactly what I'm always thinking about my stuff and explain why I'm surrounded by a lot of it, even though I don't like it all.
So, if you struggle with the stuff people give you,
or with something you don't like (like a bulky recliner) but keep until it can be replaced with something you do like ( a pretty overstuffed chair),
or you can't part with the things you got for free (5,003 pencils),
or the things you think you'll need someday (my nemesis),
The one thing she didn't discuss was "But I spent [a lot of] money on that!" I'll have to figure out how to get over that obstacle by myself (and convince the Money Maker to do it, too. He doesn't understand why I buy things only to get rid of them later. So of course there is no guilt trying to get rid of things that I bought not long ago but maybe don't like so much after all.)
It's shorter than nearly all of my posts. It will take you two minutes. You have time.
Oh! and if you have an extra minute, read this one about mess begetting mess. It happens at my house all the cotton-picking time!
Have you heard of Unclutterer.com? I only discovered it a little while ago and am just now noticing all the cool stuff about decluttering in their archives. Like inherited clutter. Cable clutter. Children. Office organization. Small spaces.
I think I just found a new way to waste a lot of time. Not uncluttering.

A happy life is an as-is life. Love that. You've seen my basement. I'm in the middle of decluttering. Mimi

The best way I found to de-clutter is to move. Then it all gets packed in a box and stays in storage for the rest of your life. But at least your house looks clean.

I am sitting here in my cluttered office wondering how on earth I would handle all this stuff if it had to be in my living room...

The antique store is in Logan. It's right on the hiway into town. I think it's called Country Antiques. I should have taken a picture. I thought about it but was too busy fitting stuff in the car.

These are the times I hate that I'm trying to get through a whole blog list. I want to go read about the uncluttering--it's a passion of mine! Ah well, maybe tomorrow...

Thanks for the links!
