Ken Mehlman Quits RNC Post

I'm not surprised Ken Mehlman is leaving as RNC Chair, after all, the Republicans tanked on Tuesday and the buck stops with him. But, TRex's post on Mehlman at Firedoglake is a great read:

Holy sh*t, that was fast. The AP is reporting that Ken Mehlman will be leaving his job in January to go and work for the Giuliani presidential campaign, possibly because America's Mayor is the only man in the GOP with a more pronounced lisp than his own.

Or maybe is has something to do with Bill Maher outing his scrawny a*s on Larry King Live last night....Of course, CNN edited out that bit later, but apparently the fallout was enough that this morning Big Dubya called Kenny on to the famous Carpet of Optimism in the Oval Office for a "little talk".

Follow the link for a hilarious version of their "little talk." Nice, TRex.

    The Oval Office? (none / 0) (#1)

The same Oval Office where Clinton got a blow job?

There's something poetic, or karmic, or something, about that.

actually, this was in the works (none / 0) (#2)

I saw something in the New York papers about two weeks ago, saying it was expected Mehlman would be joining Giuliani's campaign, along with some Rove protege named Hoover (a 28 y/o female descendant of the 20s' version of Miserable Failure) who'd just left the WH.

I'm in the middle of some briefing, so I don't have the time to find the link, but it's out there.

Along with Rudy having lived with a gay friend for a while, after his catting around behind then-wife Donna Hanover made life under the same roof in Gracie Mansion untenable.  And his cousin-f'g history.  And a whole lot of other dirt, not the least of which is Bernie Kerik.

the first time on CNN the other day. queer as a three dollar bill. not that there's anything wrong with that mind you, but he nearly pranced. i'm kind of surprised no one noticed this before, given his boss' considerable public dislike for his "kind".

how do these people stand themselves? what kind of mind altering drugs do gay republicans take, so they can show up in public without barfing all over themselves? i just don't get it. it would be analogous to a black man running PR for the KKK. there just must be a huge amount of self-loathing going on there.

rudy for the white house? get real, he's vastly tainted goods. maybe congress, maybe, but not the white house. any dem running against him would have little fear of shredding him, in front of the "values" voters. geez, that's too damn funny for words!

And I can't wait for late winter of 2008 to see Rudy get "McCained" in the Southern primaries. It's gonna be almost too much fun to watch the supposed hero of 9/11 getting his dirty laundry (and then sum) rubbed all up in his face by the Religious Right.

    See here.

I'm not sure what qualifications Steele has beyond running a good campaign in a blue state and serving as Lt. Governor.

The article also confirms scribe's mention above that Mehlman started planning to leave the job back in the summer.
