Chief urges NDP to take stand on Tsawwassen treaty

VICTORIA -- An influential native leader is challenging the B.C. New Democratic Party to end its silence on a proposed land claims settlement on the eve of a critical vote.If ratified, the Tsawwassen First Nation will have achieved only the second modern-day treaty in British Columbia, after the Nisga'a deal was signed almost a decade ago.
