A Beta-Alpha-Cal Glance At My Ten Desert Island Albums v6.0

Imagine three boys driving from Texas to New Jersey in a white Saturn wagon. Imagine them barreling down the interstates with the only the radio and “Odelay” to listen to. Imagine crossing the Mason-Dixon Line into Pennsylvania early on a Monday morning – all three boys sleepy.

Imagine The Duke scanning the radio and landing on WXPN, broadcasting from a tower in Harrisburg. Imagine the Vice President of Disco Infiltration, Bruce Warren, introducing this album.

Imagine The Duke trying to stay awake behind the wheel while he gets a better chance to hear some Sarah Harmer.

That’s what I image when I hear the opening drumbeat of the opening track of this album. And once it starts I have to listen all the way through. It's that good.

Listen:
Around The Corner (opening track)
Basement Apartment (the radio single)
Lodestar (best cello line used in 2000)
