We Must Be Running Out Or Something.
For your consideration: We Must Be Running Out Or Something.
If you like to shop at discount warehouses where they sell 100 rolls of toilet paper, or 800 plastic forks, or 50 bottles of Bud Light all for $11.99, then you might have noticed the formerly-large plastic drums of liquid laundry detergent have been replaced in these stores with containers half the old size. The rhetoric on the side of the containers says something to the effect of higher concentrated for your convenience, or some other type of advertising lie.
That’s Great!
So, obviously, the detergent companies have been selling us X% product with the other 90% being plain old tap water. That's nice.
The more compelling issue here is something that people commonly overlook: Oil is in everything.
So, when we looked at those smaller plastic containers, we thought: Are we running out? The film Syriana addresses this issue directly—in a fictional package, of course. But, we wonder sometimes how much people forget about how oil is in:
- Carpeting
- Aspirin
- Bic pens
- You name it. I'm typing on an oil product right now.
And, the SHOCKER reminder for us all . . .
Our Military.
That’s right. All those vehicles and planes that keep us safe each night . . . while Americans watch TV and high school kids snort crushed Spree candies . . . all need fossil fuels. Not that The Money Kings are truly worried about strategic reserves at this point. Don't worry. If the $hit really hits the fan, we’ll invade and conquer an oil rich country to keep our dominance. It’s only logical. You don't build an empire to see it wiped out by an energy source "owned" by someone else. You just go and "own" them.
The Money Kings are happy, however, that the oil prices are moving the way they have been of recent. It’s a great way for us all to get our heads out of our a$$es and look for alternatives. We all love our plastics. We all rely on our plastics. Let’s keep them, and drive on something else.
Good luck out there.

I'm sure we'll have no problem invading Saudi Arabia after waging a war the cost of which is now being measured in TRILLIONS of dollars.
