Alan Fabian, a corporate executive from Cockeysville, Maryland, is one of Mitt Romney’s most important bundlers — a former George W. Bush “Ranger” (meaning he collected over $200,000 for Dubya’s campaign), now helping to gather contributions for the Romney campaign. Chris Cillizza calls these top-level bundlers “whales,” and if you scroll down, you’ll see Fabian’s name listed.
He’s also, according to Federal prosecutors in Maryland, a big-time fraudster:
A federal grand jury indicted a corporate executive who allegedly ran a scheme to make $32 million in false purchases of computer equipment, spending the money instead on beach real estate and private jet travel, prosecutors said Thursday.
Alan B. Fabian, 43, of Cockeysville, is charged in a 23-count indictment with mail fraud, money laundering, bankruptcy fraud, perjury and obstruction of justice. The grand jury handed up the indictment Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Baltimore and it was unsealed Thursday.
At a news conference, U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein called it one of the largest monetary theft cases ever prosecuted in Maryland.
So, two days before the Ames straw poll, we find out that one of Mitt Romney’s most important fundraisers is also alleged to have perpetrated “one of the largest monetary theft cases ever prosecuted in Maryland.” Not the kind of story Romney wants to see right now, I’d say.

MITT didn’t commit fraud. It would take a pretty ignorant person to change their vote just because it comes out that a Romney supporter is dishonest. Just as long as the CANDIDATE or CAMPAIGN isn’t indicted…
All of the top Republican candidates have criminals or alleged criminals working top level positions as advisers or staff in the campaign.
That doesn’t bother you? What does that say about a Rudy Giuliani or Mitt Romney cabinet?
Hey, two indicted secretaries in the cabinet ain’t bad, right? Because it’s not the actual president!
Please. This is about judgment and who you surround yourself with. I think it is a perfectly legitimate reason to worry about a candidate.
“Will no one rid me of this man!”
While Mitt may not have in any way requested the act of fraud, as Matt Ortega notes, the type of people you have working for you or your cause does say something about YOU.
I also recall another truism my grandmother was fond of. It doesn’t exactly fit in to the contorted legalistic thinking mold of those who would defend such associations but works well for a rule of thumb:
“Birds of a feather flock together . . . “
So this accused thief raised big mony for W?
Not to worry, Mr. Fabian, the President will remember you favorably, before his pardon authority runs out.
This just means Romney will have to loan his campaign more money.

It seems that we should have had enough of President friends being found to be criminals, now this bunch of wannabe’s are headed in the same direction. I hope folks think before electing such people with friends as such.

Update: Bush has acquitted him.
And why is there absolutely NO mention of Ron Paul? Put your alliances aside for a brief moment and look at his record and what he plans he has for America’s future:
Never voted for any tax - period.
Never took a congressional-paid junket - period.
Never took lobbyist monies-period.
Never voted to raise congressional pay - ever!
Never voted to increase executive branch power - ever!
Wants to bring home the troops - tomorrow.
Wants to end “no-win” police actions - tomorrow.
Wants to rescind the “Patriot Act” - tomorrow.
Wants to end “birthright” citizenship for illegal aliens.
Wants to secure REALLY secure our borders and STOP illegal immigration - NOW.
Wants to protect our privacy and STOP the National ID card.
Wants to STOP unconstitutional spending leading us to bankruptcy.

[…] noteworthy is the fact that one of Romney’s key fundraisers was recently indicted for mail fraud, money laundering, bankruptcy fraud, perjury and obstruction of justice. So the idea […]
The items mentioned are testified to, under penalty of perjury.
The law firm of Morris Nichols represented eToys and Bain during the Bain acquisition and bankruptcies of etoys and Bain’s KB Toys.
The US Attorney, Colm F Connolly was a partner at Morris Nichols.
The US Attorney has not prosecuted eToys or MNAT for 3 years now, even after admitted acts of False affidavit’s.
Bain was owned anc controlled by Mitt Romney in 2001, when Colm F Connolly was at Morris Nichols.
Now Colm F Connolly is slotted to be a US Federal Judge in Delaware.
Mitt Romney benefited from Fraud that occurred with Bain and eToys.
Bain controlled all sides of the estate when the old public equity holders were slighted by the fraud.
Now D E Shaw, an associated party with Bain has gone public again with eToys.com, without the original shareholders.
The Associaed Press released a story on Oct 25, 2005 that stated the following
Judge Justice Dept silence aided fraud .
If you google that judge term you will see the story everywhere.
That case is 1/100th of the crimes in eToys case.
Things are heating up guys.
Mitt Romney owned Bain when the $300 million in fraud occurred. One way or the other, he benefited from the Fraud….

Heyyyy guess what? heres a new idea for several people…(so i wanted to post this on this very left-sided site with this information but they closed comments)….this man just might be INNOCENT!!!!!!!! hmmm yeah…now last time i checked…indicted doesn’t mean GUILTY! …you know, just something to chew on there. It just means that certain people like to pick on others…sometimes its for something they actually did, but a lot of times its also for something they DID NOT DO! now believe it or not, I have a LOT of TRUE information on this case ok? So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE whatever you do, do NOT go out and spread rumors and make uneducated remarks, which is what many people do. Plus, you and I could probably never imagine what his family is going through. This has got to be and extremely tough time for them, especially if he is innocent, which makes the situation even worse, because they would be going through something they don’t even need to be going through, and the people doing this to them will never be able to undo it or take it back. Thats the problem with words. We have been blessed with tongue, and language, but often we misuse our gift. When it is misused, the result can never be replenished, the words cannot be taken back.
Another important point, what ever happened to ‘Innocent Until PROVEN Guitly’?????? HUH?!?!?! Now supposedly the law tries to help keep this in order, but seriously. If this was really being kept tru, then the Fabian family would not have to be going through the issues they are. Plus, when rumors are spread about situations like this, it demolishes much of the purpose of ‘innocent until PROVEN guilty’ doesn’t it? Because no matter what anyone says, rumors get to peoples heads and they can start to believe them.
Now have a sypathetic mind now, try to imagine with me for a moment, what Mr. and Mrs. Fabian’s three children must be going through. They all go to school, knowing that most of the people that know of their situation probably look down on them because of the rumors they have heard. Now lets get more personal: You are a business man. You are being charged with something incredulous. You have three children all in school. You have a wife. You are under massive pressure from all directions, including financially, and your children might even doubt you because of the things they have heard from their friends who, of course, are making uneducated remarks and starting rumors. Think about what rumors can do to people’s self-esteem! Don’t we ALL have the right to be confident? To tell you the truth, looking our beautiful country, gorgeous, yet so full of greed that one neighbor looks for reasons to accuse another with or without being legitimate, just makes me want to cry. What have we come to?
I quite agree. I think that the whole innocent until proven guilty thing should be taken to more extreme. Family is very important and should be provided for.
Something to say?
