I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I almost entirely agree with John Hollinger!
![]() Keyon Dooling being selected as the 2nd team point guard, and categorizing Shane Battier as a two-guard and naming him as the 1st team SG are the only mistakes, in my opinion. Having said that, they're not exactly mistakes because these players are selected by Hollinger's stats, not by his opinions. |

Rasheed Wallace in the 2nd team? I didn't think he was that good. Great first team. Every single one of those players is deserved. And Keyon Dooling - do we see enough of him on the court for him to warrant a spot? Obviously when he is on the court he's good.....

No Eddy Curry??? No Zach Randolph....???
Seriously though I completely agree with Rusty's post. Overall the teams arent too bad but, as with everything Hollinger, they are based on stats i think and we all know a lot of defense is made up of things that arent measurable...

Sheed gets blocks and steals and pulls down the boards + can gaurd guys like Duncan and KG in the post and keep them tammed or shut em down... Totally agree and Battier is more of a SG/SF as he usually just gaurds the better SG or SF on a team say against Denver he'll gaurd mello and against LA he's on Kobe

He's a small forward who guards both wing positions. The key to figuring out his true position is watching him on offense, where T-Mac is playing the two-guard role.

Hollinger explains the Battier thing in the article. He wrote that Battier is really a SF but because he guards the other team's best swingman and that way he has a better overall first team he put him at SG

He's a small forward on offense and does guard two-guards on D, but that's not the only position he guards. I have to still classify him as a 3. |
