"The thing that irritated me the most was how they sang in what I call 'Chinky english.' For example the last scene where LuLing cannot see Precious Auntie anymore, and she is in the hospital about to die. She calls out to her daughter 'Lootie' [i.e., Ruthie -Ed.] and says 'Where she go?' It's like Chinese ebonics....sung. At this point I was rolling my eyes" (oh, i hit that point much earlier, with 'that OJ man, he hide in bush, i hiding there too' yours in chinkiness, m. c-) -
