Yes We Can - Barack Obama Music Video
As a 55+ Baby Boomer, I would like to make the following statement:
"We f***ed it up!"
Today, I announce that I support Barack Obama and as soon as I can get some money together, I will be making a donation to his campaign at the end of this week.(His website states they appreciate anything from five (5) dollars on up.
I do not want the old establishment, McCain nor do I want 8 more years of Clinton in that White House.
I want change.
America needs to be changed. The Gen Xrs and Gen Y's were right. The Baby Boomers have made a mess of this country. It has to stop now. Greenspan, Bernacke, Bush-all of them, have made a mess of this country and it must stop. Now.
If Barack Obama becomes the next President Of The United States, it will send a clear message to the rest of the world:
In America, ALL men are created equal.

You know he's for universal health care in a sense? He's also for raising taxes? He's not as liberal (or perhaps more realistic as Hillary), but he's quite liberal.
I actually would vote for mccain because I think he's honest. I don't agree with any of his positions, but he says what he means. Or else who could say so stupidly "tax cuts = bad, immigration = give them green cards, Iraq = more troops?" Seriously who would have thought eh?
But either democrat is fine with me. I am looking for higher taxes, revamped health care, revamped SS.
Ahhhhh,
I'd like to jump up and down and cheer.
You're one of the smart ones. On the outside edge of the boomer bell curve. Now if only other boomers would listen to you.
Unfortunately, Obama is more of the same. Raise your social security taxes more big government programs. At least he (says) would get us out of Iraq.
McCain is frightening. He is a down right scary person. He will say anything, do anything. He only cares about power.
So, though I am a Ron Paul supporter, if it is between McCain and Obama I am also going for Obama. If the other choice is Clinton I might look for work out of the country.
X-er: I am reading 'Crash Proof' written by Peter Schiff. Each page gets me sick to my stomach. When you see the games our govt plays with money and our life. The final straw came when they (and Wall St) destroyed the very fiber and core of what it means to be an American-the American home. Owning a home now is a disgrace. They have ruined this country to nothing. We have become a nation of mindless consumers, heavily racked up in debt. Borrow, borrow, spend, spend.
If Clinton is elected, I am seriously thinking of moving to Italy. The Italians don't even have a govt now but it means nothing: business as usual because the Italians know gov't is corrupt and useless.
I'll take my loss on the USA buck and just get the hell outta here.
At least with Obama there is a shred of hope. Maybe, just maybe, because he is uncorrupted, he can straighten out some things.
It is time for the Baby Boomers to step aside and let the next generation give it a go. Maybe. Just maybe.
cinzea: A great book to Read is "Empire of Debt" by William Bonner. Kind-a in the same vein as crash proof.
Talks about how all empires end by debasing their currency.
At our current rate it is inevitable. Get the crash over so we can move on.
X-er: I'll get the book next from the library once I finish this one. BTW, where have you been? I've missed you. I am so happy you are back. Hope all is well.
Barack is also looking very attractive as the next POTUS to me.
I'm sick of the scare mongering Bush Cheney media machine. Get real, there will always be countries gunning for USA. But that doesnt mean we should throw away all our liberties and rights and become a police state.
I am also tired of the Bush Clinton Bush Clinton Bush Clinton Bush Clinton Bush Clinton Bush Clinton Bush Clinton Bush Clinton Bush Clinton Bush Clinton Bush Clinton Bush Clinton.
ARE WE A DEMOCRACY? or just a MONARCHY of Bush Clinton?
And McCain is an old geezer probably being manipulated by his handlers and moneyed supporters. Heck he even wanted to grant amnesty with his pal Kennedy to illegals who got in the country. Sure John, let's just give them a free pass for violating the immigration law.
Time for new blood. YOUNG BLOOD. Obama fits the shoe is how I see it. Obama not perfect I'm sure. But he is the lesser evil of the McCain Clinton beltway regulars.
