Man Charged In Roommate's Stabbing Death

BOSTON -- A Jamaica Plain man was ordered held without bail Monday in the stabbing death of his roommate this weekend.Kim Gaines, 52, pleaded not guilty to murder charges at his arraignment in West Roxbury Municipal Court. He was ordered held without bail.Boston police were called to the 5 Gartland St. address at about 7 p.m. Sunday to find a man with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital where he later died. The man's name has not been released.
Gaines will return to court on June 24.
