A Somerville resident is hoping that foul play was not involved in the disappearance of her pet rooster.

Janie Owen's pet rooster, Reston, disappeared from her Willoughby Street residence last week, according to the Somerville Journal.

Owen said that she saw Reston, a black rose-comb Bantam, walk from her back yard to her front yard, and then it disappeared.

She believes that her pet may have been birdnapped, the newspaper reported. Owen said that children in her neighborhood told her that they saw someone carrying the bird down the street.
