Q. How do I schedule a station tour for my classroom?

A. We conduct station tours Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm.  If you would like to set up a station tour or request a special tour date or time please call (937) 220-1708 or email dthevenin@thinktv.org.

Q. Where can I attend an early learning workshop?

A. Our community workshops help parents, educators and child care providers extend the learning value of our educational program offerings.  Click here for a complete list of community workshops.  For more information or to register for a workshop call Tina Spaulding (937-220-1670) or email at tspaulding@thinktv.org.

Q. How can I help make sure my child is prepared to begin school?

A. ThinkTV’s Ready to Learn service is designed to help young children become effective learners.  Use “View, Read, Do” to extend your child’s television learning.  Click here for more information about “View, Read, Do.”

Q. What is the Reading Rainbow Young Writer’s and Illustrators Contest?

A. This contest was created to encourage children to express themselves through writing and drawing.  Each year we invite children to write, illustrate and submit stories to ThinkTV.  First, second and third place winners are chosen in four categories Kindergarten, first, second and third grades.  Contact Tina Spaulding (937-220-1670), email tspaulding@thinktv.org for more information.

Heritage Volume II


Grades 3-5
In Season II of Our Ohio: Exploring Our Heritage six videos and accompanying lessons take students to historic locations in Ohio. Lessons and activities are aligned to the Ohio Academic Content Standards for grades 3-5 and are tied to Ohio history themes including early statehood, geography, geology, economics, technology, innovation, the branches of government and more.

Our Ohio: Exploring Our Economy

Grades 9-12
ThinkTV has created these economics resources for grades 9-12 based on our public television series, Our Ohio. Six 4-8 minute video segments take students around the state to explore our economy. Interviews with local business people, farmers, industry leaders, and experts from the automotive, agriculture, and manufacturing industries will illustrate the role that local businesses and communities play in the economy of the state, country, and even the world.

Engineering Your Future

Engineering Your Future introduces students to the exciting fields of engineering! Dayton Teaching American History

Grades 5-10
Through a partnership with Wright State University, Dayton Public Schools, ThinkTV, and local historical organizations, the Dayton Teaching American History project has developed online American history instructional guides for grades 5, 8, and 9.

Miami Valley Teaching American History

Grades 9-12
Through a partnership with Wright State University, the Montgomery County Educational Services Center, ThinkTV and a dedicated team of curriculum advisors, teachers, and historians, the Miami Valley Teaching American History project has developed online resources to help students having difficulty with the social studies portion of the Ohio Graduation Test. The Write Site

Grades 6-8
ThinkTV's interactive multimedia language arts curriculum was developed to improve the reading and writing skills of middle school students. Students take on the role of reporters and editors as they engage in the real-life challenges of reporting news and publishing a newspaper. (visit the write site)

20th Century Interactive

Grades 9-12
20th Century Interactive is a multimedia, high school curriculum in which students experience a sense of discovery as they become historians who actively search for the history around them.

The Rest of Your Brain

Grade 5
The Rest of Your Brain is a multi-media, interactive curriculum for fifth grade students in the Cleveland, Dayton and Toledo regions. The program connects authentic arts experiences with core skills in all five disciplines tested by Ohio's proficiency exams. Through the arts-based activities in the basic curricular areas, students learn about key periods of American history:
  • Native Americans: Digging Into Our Past
  • Colonization and the Revolutionary War
  • Underground Railroad: The Trail to Freedom
  • Building a Multicultural Nation
  • Pathbreaking Inventions
  • The Stories of American Heroes

Instructional guides are available to teachers absolutely free through a grant from Ohio Educational Telecommunications (OET).

Inventing Flight for Schools

Grades 6-8
Through this multimedia curriculum, students discover answers to three critical problems of flight: Control, Lift and Propulsion. Students also learn both the history and science of flight, and how the Wrights laid the foundation for today’s aeronautical sciences.
