Start making your listThe untimely death of the author who co-wrote the adventure travel guide "100 Things to Do Before You Die" has led many bloggers to create their own lists of things to do before making the final exit.
Dave Freeman, an advertising executive who co-authored the 1999 book with friend Neil Teplica, died on August 17 at the age of 47 after falling and hitting his head at his Venice, California home.
In "100 Things to Do Before You Die" the authors write: "This life is a short journey. How can you make sure you fill it with the most fun and that you visit all the coolest places on earth before you pack those bags for the very last time?"
The books recommendations included attending the Academy Awards and running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, to the more unusual, like taking a voodoo pilgrimage in Haiti and "land diving" in Vanuatu, which freeman said was the "original bungee jumping."
On Julia Rosien's blog she posted," Search 'Dave Freeman' tonight and you'll find hundreds of bloggers paying tribute to a guy who squeezed every drop he could out of his short life. Dave only finished half his list before he died, but I still call that a success."
On the blog sdastroguy a post read," Dave Freeman passed away this week. He was the author of '100 Things to Do Before You Die.' That got me thinking of what is still left that I want to do in my life."
"I'm at the age where I really need to start getting going on this. He was only 47 so that also gives me something to think about as well. You never know what might happen tomorrow so you better make the most of today."
Blogger Paul O' Donnell wrote," The book not only inspired what is now practically its own genre of books (as well as movies like The Bucket List), Freeman's title reminded mortal readers that time was limited."

Dating Bucket List
Too funny. I created a web site for bucket lists but actually named it The dating Diaries. My girlfriend and I were putting together a list of things that we wanted to do and I created a web page to keep track of it for us.
In the past 3 months it has evolved to the point where now anyone can use it and share it with a partner. Images and descriptions can be uploaded too when you ceck it off your list. We have about 20 things on our list that we have done so far and probably another 50 that we want to do.

Bucket List
Thanks for mentioning my blog! I truly believe siezing every moment makes you happier in general. And when things go wrong, you're more equipped to handle the stress with agility because you're already living in the moment.
We all need to be reminded to live for today - instead of that day in the distant future.

Lets eat and drink because tomorrow we die?
"That got me thinking of what is still left that I want to do in my life."
That's the typical "Lets eat and drink because tomorrow we die?"-attitude of life. You are not supposed to think about what you WANT to do with your life your supposed to think about what you ARE SUPPOSED to do with your life.
Rather worry about what God wants you to do with your life. If you are dead and you did not do what you were supposed to do, there is no way to make up for your mistakes.
Tomorrow we may be gone.
mmm... you might have a point there. But I believe you think they are exclusive of each other. Who said that by doing what we want to do with our lives isn't what you are supposed to be doing?
When you have a totally 100% correct qualified answer on that. Well... then you're the man! :)
That's the whole point
But that's the whole point. If you are supposed to be doing something, why bother making a list and worrying about about what you want to do, because you are going to get the chance to do it anyway?
On the other hand if it is not in your destiny to do something, but you desperately want to do it before you die, you are not going to do it anyway, so what's the use of worrying about it?
Start the list now
I came across the concept of the Bucket List recently, and it really feels like something worth doing.
We spend all our lives revolving around our jobs and neglect ourselves and our families. This is something one must start doing right now.
Daily things to do to say you've lived
I prefer the concept of the 10 pardoxical commandments. More of an attitude in the way you live than a check off list of things to do before you die.
10 Paradoxical Commandments of Leadership
by Kent Keith
1. People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love and trust them anyway.
2. If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
3. If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
4. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
5. Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
6. The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest people with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
7. People favor underdogs but follow top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
8. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
9. People really need help but may attack you if you help them.
Help people anyway.
10. Give the world the best you have, and you may get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world your best anyway.
