Respect the opposition

Heh… The title of the post is much less serious than it seems… promise… :)

For me, it’s always important to stay on top of what other WordPress designers are doing and this is now even more so for other premium theme designers; because if we’d like to continue to grow WooThemes, we need to know what the other guys (and girls are doing).

Press75There’s quite a few premium WP theme designers that I have a lot of respect for and at the top of my list Brian Gardner who basically “invented” the industry I’m spending most of my time in these days. In recent months though my respect and admiration for Jason Schuller has grown immensely and I seriously believe that his video themes are truly amazing.

So it’s thus great to see that Jason has finally set up a separate identity for his amazing themes. The new site where’ll he’ll be housing all of his themes, is called Press75 and I really suggest that you have a look at it, if you haven’t seen his work before.

Well done Jason - keep up the great work! :)

Thanks for the bump in traffic Adii… I honestly think “Respect” is the perfect title for this post. I really appreciate the courtesy I have received from you and many others. Providing a product and service that people love is what keeps me going, but variety and choice is what keeps things interesting. With that in mind, I think your new WooThemes brand is a smash hit, and I can’t wait to see some of the new concepts Woo has in store this next few months.

All my pleasure bro - your work deserves the mention! :) And yeah - I really believe that all of us can live together in harmony, as we don’t have to opponents, even though we sell competing products.

Isn’t it interesting how many of the news sites have basically copied some of the wordpress news themes. Check out latimes - latimes.com/news

the title really scared me :).

This is a great initiative adii. Keep up the good work.

I love the video themes there as well and if I ever had a video type site, that would be the place I’d go. And yeah, I believe if more people stopped trying to hate everyone else in their field of work (wordpress custom designers or premium theme designers) then it would, in my opinion, help everyone grow and gain more business. Cudo’s to you Adii for this post.

Wow i really liked the themes provided by Press 75 but turned off by the design of the site itself…ooops

Hello, First post on this site ! Adii rockstar you definitely rock !

Great post about respect adn it’s even some kind of ads for the competition nice :)

But you forgot to mention one a really great video design witch is :
http://quommunication.com/video/
clean nice features all “same kind of design”

you go guys
regards

Thing is; not everything has to be about money, business and competition… All of us are in the same boat and we face the same challenges; so there’s no need to be overly competitive.

@jp - I don’t rate Quo’s video theme as high as I do Jason’s… It’s a great theme nonetheless, but I’d rather spend my cash with Jason, as I think you’ll get a much better product.

Thanks for the tip :) I don’t actually intend to buy either one of them I run on ExpressionEngine so But still love to check out what design’s club provide these days. Even joomla and others.

Regards
PS : congrats on the Woothemes launch. All the best.

There is definitely room for everyone. I’ve used both Jason’s, Woo, and Brian’s themes for different purposes and they have all been easy to tweak and customise. Wordpress themes have come a very long way in the last couple of years.
