Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Pollycarpus Budihari Priyanto who is serving a 20 year-jail sentence for his role in the death of human rights activist Munir`s was moved from Cipinang prison, Jakarta, to Sukamiskin prison in Bandung, West Java, on May 23, a prison affairs official said.
"Pollycarpus has been moved to Sukamiskin prison. The transfer was done at the request of his family because his wife and children live in Bandung," spokesman of the Directorate General of Penitentiary Affairs Akbar Adi Prabowo said here on Tuesday.
Pollycarpus was sent to Cipinang jail, East Jakarta, on January 25, 2008, following the verdict of the Supreme Court which sentenced the former Garuda pilot to 20 years in prison for Munir`s murder.
Pollycarpus Priyanto, 45, was convicted of poisoning Munir Thalib with arsenic on a Garuda flight to Amsterdam in September 2004.
He would serve 20 years in jail including two years that he had served at Cipinang Jail while waiting for the Supreme Court`s decision on his appeal.
