Bandung (ANTARA News) - Three men who robbed a telecommunication kiosk (warnet) on Jalan Sarmanah, Bandung, were shot to death by police early Monday morning.
The three robbers were killed after they exchanged fire with police in the Ciwaruga area in Cimahi, some five kilometers from the scene of the crime.
Heri, the owner of the telecommunication kiosk, said the incident occurred at about 4 in the morning when three unidentified men in an Avanza car entered his shop and pointed a gun at him.
After locking up Heri and four customers in a room of the warnet, the three men seized everything they could find and then made their escape toward Cimahi.
Their strange movements aroused suspicion of an eyewitness who jotted down the number of their car, B-2369-HI, and then reported it to the police.
Soon after receiving the report, the police went into action, chased and finally caught up with the robbers at Ciwaruga in Cimahi.
The bodies of the three robbers are still at the Hasan Sadikin Hospital`s mortuary for an autopsy.
