Bontang, East Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had been installed as honorary member of the Indonesian Marine Corps in appreciation for his undivided attention to and care for the development and growth of the Navy`s elite force.

The installation was conducted by Navy Chief of Staff Fleet Admiral Sumardjono on board the warship KRI Soeharso-990 at Bontang Port, East Kalimantan, on Sunday.

Previously, President Yudhoyono and Sultan Hassanah Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam were also installed as honorary members of the Indonesian Air Foce elite force.

Military (TNI) chief General Djoko Santoso and Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Sumardjono were previously also installed as honorary members of the Indonesian Marine Corps.

After being installed as honorary member of the Marine Corps, the President and entourage left for Sangatta as one of the points of the joint military exercise 2008.
