Balikpapan (ANTARa News) - Indonesian First Lady Ani Yudhoyono has called on well-educated women in the country to be a "magnet of empowerment" for other women.

The first lady made the call in remarks at a meeting with the East Kalimantan`s Family Welfare Movement (PKK), Dharma Wanita (Association of Retired Civil Servants and the Wives of Civil Servants), women organizations and coalitions, and the TNI/Police Wives Organization here on Monday.

"I hope women with adequate education here can be a magnet of empowerment for other women who are less educated," Ani Yudhoyono said.

She also expressed hope that already powerful women would have a great concern for their environment and think what they could do to empower other women in their surroundings.

According to her, empowered mothers would be able to improve the quality of their children`s and family`s life.

"Women with less knowledge usually don`t know what they should do because they are pessimistic, have less confidence, and are prone to negative thinking. Therefore, try to empower them," Ani Yudhoyono said.
