Jakarta: Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police will start to operate a team equipped with roller skates on July 1st.
The team will work on main streets with traffic where the police cannot get through with motorized vehicles.
This was conveyed by the head of the Traffic Management Centre (TMC) directorate at Jakarta Regional Police today (19/06).
He said police with roller-skates are necessary when the traffic is appalling. “We want to control the traffic fast and effectively,” Sambodo said.
The team will work on Jalan Sudirman, Jalan Gatot Subroto, and Jalan MH Thamrin. They will be taken by motorbike and continue directing the traffic wearing roller-skates.
