Bogor, (ANTARA News) - Sixteen bodies of victims of the Air Force Cassa N212-100 plane crash were evacuated from the accident site at Tegal Lilin village, Bogor, on Saturday.

"The 16 bodies have been put in body poaches but not yet been identified," Air Force spokesman Air Commodore Chaerudin Ray said here on Saturday.

The search and rescue (SAR) team was trying to evacuate all 18 victims of the plane crash to Halim Perdana Kesuma air force base, in Jakarta, he said.

"I cannot confirm when and how the victims will be taken to Halim Perdana Kusuma," he said.

Joint security personnel from the National Defense Force (TNI), Police and SAR team have closed the area of the plane crash up to a radius of 2 kilometers from the public.

The bodies are expected to be identified at Halim Perdana Kusuma Air Force Hospital before before they are handed to their families.

The Cassa N212-200 plane with 18 people on board crashed in Bogor on Thursday evening.

The aircraft left Halim Perdanakusuma airbase in Jakarta for Bogor for a training mission for aerial digital camera operators.

The Cassa N212-200 plane based at the Squadron 4 of Abdulrahman Saleh airbase in East Java, is a light cargo aircraft equipped with facilities for aerial photography and aerial surveys.
