Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - Police have named Ferry Yuliantono, secretary general of the Awaken Indonesia Committee, a suspect in the violence-marred rallies against the fuel price hikes in front of the parliament building and Atmajaya Catholic University last June 24, 2008.

Yuliatono was arrested at around 6.30 pm on Friday and questioned all evening, National Police Headquarters spokesman Inspector General Abubakar Nataprawira said here on Saturday.

Earlier, National Intelligence Agency (BIN) Chief Syamsir Siregar had said someone whose initials were "FY" was the "mastermind" behind the protests against the fuel oil price hikes.

The Police were scheduled to hold a press conference on Yuliantono`s arrest at the National Police Headquartes on Saturday noon.

Eight police cars were damaged by protesters in the rally last Tuesday (June 24), and one was completely burned down. A car of the research and technology state ministry was also set in fire by the protesters.

The police earlier had named five suspects in the rally, namely Jeffry Silalahi, Andy Rahmat, Ramson Purba, Sahala Napitupulu, and Agus.
