Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA News) - Chairman of the Lawmaking Body of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Abdurrahman Wahid alias Gus Dur said he would meet President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) on Monday night.

"Jaya Suprana (president director of Jamu Cap Jago company) has contacted me to ask about the matter and I told him I will meet SBY on Monday night," Gus Dur, who is also a former president, said here on Saturday.

Gus Dur made the remarks when addressing a grand meeting of the PKB at Miftahul Ulum Islamic boarding school. The boarding school is chaired by KH Maghrobi Choyadi.

The former president said he had several issues to accommodate about SBY. He said that he would ask about SBY`s boldness to fight corruption and re-organize the state.

"If he is bold I will support him. If not, I won`t. I will be straight forward and tell him that I can accommodate only a little about him," Gus Dur said.

Accompanied by his daughter Zannubah Arifah Chofsoh (Yeni Wahid), who is also PKB secretary general, Gus Dur said development at present was in essence still elite-oriented

"The development effort carried out today only benefits the rich and elite groups of people while the general public remains poor. Therefore, SBY must be brave and re-organize the state," he said.

He said if he was elected president, he would put national development back on track after it had been elite-oriented for 62 years.

"Indonesia at present has external debts totaling Rp158 trillion of which Rp118 trillion is only used to pay debt as well so that Indonesia`s condition now remains as it is," he said.

Therefore, the president must be courageous to ask for a five-year debt moratorium, Wahid said.

"If we can have a three-year moratorium such as was once enjoyed by Argentina, the people can prosper because the use of the Rp158 trillion could be oriented to development of the people`s prosperity for five years," he said.
