Bulyan was arrested after receiving US$ 60,000 and 5.500 euros – not 10,000 euros as previously reported – at a money changer at Plaza Senayan.

After 14 hours of questioning at the KPK office, he was brought to the Jakarta Metro Police headquarters. He did not comment on the arrest.

The KPK has named Bulyan as a suspect of a case involving the Directorate General of Sea Communication’s patrol boat tender. “The modus was changing the money to US dollars and euros,” said KPK deputy chairman, Chandra M. Hamzah, at a press conference yesterday.

The KPK also searched Bulyan’s apartment at Permata Hijau, and The Transportation Department office at Medan Merdeka Barat Road, Jakarta. Transportation Minister Jusman Syafii Djamal said he supported the KPK’s move to expose the case.
Bulyan has admitted receiving the money at Plaza Senayan. He reported this to Reform Star Party Secretary General, Usman Ali, when he came to the Metro police headquarters yesterday.

The money allegedly came from PT Binamina Karya Perkasa director, Dedi Suwarsono. Binamina won the tender to procure Rp. 120 billion worth of 20 patrol boats. The boats were auctioned in five package, containing four boats each package.

“Each boat measuring 28 meter long is valued at Rp. 5,8 billion,” said Transportation Department’s Directorate General of Sea Communication Effendi Batubara.

Dedi was arrested yesterday at his house in Permata Hijau Jakarta, after being named suspect by the police.
