Los Angeles (ANTARA News/afp) - Futuristic policeman "Robocop" is set to patrol cinema screens once more in a reincarnation of the successful 1980s science fiction franchise, it was reported on Friday.
Daily Variety reported that MGM studios was planning a new "Robocop" film to be released in 2010, with Darren Aronofsky due to direct the picture about a hero who is "part man, part machine and all cop."
The original 1987 "Robocop," directed by Dutch filmmaker Paul Verhoeven, became a cult classic, earning 53 million dollars and spawning two sequels in 1990 and 1993.
