BONDED BY BLOOD Scraps MICHAEL ROSEN Album Recordings - May 16, 2008
When it was announced in late 2007 that the young, new thrash sensation BONDED BY BLOOD was set to record its debut album with producer Michael Rosen, the band and fans alike were understandably excited. Having previously worked with thrash legends such as TESTAMENT and VIO-LENCE, Rosen was an obvious choice for producing the fast-rising thrashers' furious debut album, "Feed The Beast".

Unbeknownst to many, the recording sessions with Michael Rosen were scrapped and the band opted to re-record the album with a different studio and producer.

BONDED BY BLOOD vocalist Jose "Aladdin" Barrales explains what happened and why they chose to re-record "Feed The Beast": "It was weird... Every time we got in the studio, everything sounded good, but there were a lot of problems where we clashed... He kept bringing up GREEN DAY and bands like that, that we should sound a little bit more like. I mean, I have nothing against those bands, it's just, it's not us."

Barrales continues, "It was lacking energy. It was lacking a lot of stuff really, it just wasn't the same, it wasn't our songs... There were a lot of essential songs like 'Immortal Life' and 'Feed The Beast' that we were really used to and we really liked the way they were, and he really changed a lot of stuff that we really didn't like."

BONDED BY BLOOD's hotly anticipated debut album, "Feed The Beast", is due out on June 9 in the Europe and June 24 in the U.S.

Bonded By Blood sucks. what they are really not telling you is that they fucked up in the studio and it sounds like garbage cause they can't play. The other shit Mike Rosen has done in the past sounds great. They just got pissed cause he's more about the way the music comes out and not about vintage reeboks like they are.

Totally agree with you. Were in the year 2008..not in the 80's. What they should really do is come up with an original band name, then make their own riffs instead of just copying exodus.

"Souls of black" really sounded bad, but having Testament only 3 weeks to write and record it, It's not only Rosen's fault, I guess.

Has anyone heard Michael Rosen's work with Vio-lence on their album "Nothing To Gain"? In terms of sound quality, that is one of the WORST-ever-sounding recordings. It sounds like the band was recorded inside a dumpster. Metal bands should avoid Rosen like the friggin' plague!!!!!

SUCKS! The way he produced the Testament album "Souls Of Black" has terrible quality sound. Souls Of Black is a very great album, don't get me wrong (since I am a huge Testament fan) but lets see how he will do on this one with Bonded By Blood. In my opinion, they should re-record Souls Of Black. Practice What You Preach and The New Order sounds better than it as well.

THE NEW DEATH ANGEL ALBUM IS WELL WRITTEN, WELL PRODUCED, (UH.....YEAH DUDE, SO WHAT?) AND THEY REALLY ROCKED IT LIVE WHEN THEY OPENED FOR TESTAMENT IN CLEVO. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE BITCH AND COMPLAIN THAT MUSIC IS "TOO WELL PRODUCED", OR THAT "THE PRODUCTION ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH" ALL IN THE SAME BREATH? WTF? JUST GET YOURSELF A GOOD HOME STEREO, AND EQUALIZE THE SHIT TO SOUND LIKE YOU WANT IT TOO THEN. YOU COULD MAKE THE PRODUCTION ON "KILLING SEASON" SOUND LIKE THE PRODUCTION ON "BLACK METAL" IF YOU REALLY WANTED TOO.

BONDED BY BLOOD- CHANGE YOUR NAME, C'MON BOYS. WHATS NEXT? "HELLO CLEVELAND, WE ARE AMONG THE LIVING!!!" GOOD JESUS. I WANNA HEAR THE END RESULT ONCE IT COMES OUT THOUGH.

(IMO) MOST OF THE TIME GOOD PRODUCTION LETS THE TALENTS OF THE PLAYERS INVOLVED SHINE THROUGH. (ISN'T THAT WHAT WE WANT TO HEAR?) VERY SELDOM DOES SHITTY PRODUCTION "ENHANCE" THE OVERALL SOUND OF THE FINISHED PRODUCT, OR A MUSICIANS CAPABILITIES RIGHT?

I'M WAITING FOR SOME NEWBIE HIPSTER BOZO TO START BITCHING ABOUT SNEAP'S PRODUCTION ON "ATROCITY EXHIBITION" NEXT. THAT WOULD BE FUNNY. TALK BAD ABOUT ABOUT SNEAP? HA!!!

i dig the new Death Angel too, a lot.

as for these kids, a new name would be a start, but that ain't gonna happen.

only an ass-hat would take an Exodus song for a name.

cheers.

Fantastic thrash metal, I truly don't care about the name or bollocks of the sort.
