After a storming European tour with KAMELOT, the Greek metal phenomenon FIREWIND will make its much-anticipated return to the UK this summer when it performs at this year's Download festival, set to take place the weekend of June 13-15 at Donington Park, Leicestershire, UK.

Commented guitarist Gus G.: "We're very excited about being confirmed for Download festival! It's simply THE premier rock/metal festival of Europe and we're damn proud to be a part of it! Expect a show full of fire and fury!!"

In addition to Download, FIREWIND has confirmed that it will be back in the UK for a full headlining tour in September. Gus G. continues: "It's no secret that in the UK we have the most loyal and hardcore FIREWIND fans. And we're extremely happy to announce our first extensive UK headline tour which includes nine shows in England, Scotland and Ireland, for the first time!"

The dates are as follows:

Sep. 18 - Nottingham @ Rock City
Sep. 19 - Glasgow @ Cathouse
Sep. 20 - Leeds @ Rio's
Sep. 21 - Wolverhampton @ Little Civic
Sep. 22 - Dublin @ Fibber Magees
Sep. 24 - Manchester @ Jillys Rockworld
Sep. 25 - London @ Scala
Sep. 26 - Milton Keynes @ The Pitz
Sep. 27 - Peterborough @ The Park

FIREWIND's fifth album, "The Premonition", came out on March 25.

The group's "Mercenary Man" single recently entered the Greek chart at position No. 6.

The special version of "The Premonition" comes with an o-card packaging and a bonus DVD dubbed "Live Premonition", which includes four brand-new songs from the album "The Premonition" recorded live in Thessaloniki, Greece, on January 12, 2008 as well as interviews with all of the band members.

I can't see or hear them because the video's not showing, but if they consider Download to be the best in Europe, and they're happy about it, I reckon they're pretty bad. Sorry for the prejudice, but Download is for scenesters, end of.

Yeah each to there own but to me these bands have a Journey element to them, kinda pop rock, the word Metal should not be used when talking about these pop rock bands. Download yeah fuck that its DONINGTON. Download with 3 stages next it be 4 then 5 when is it going to end. Should be 1 day 1 stage get pissed go home.
