Do the liberal progs have enough cash to keep upping the ante?

Upping the ante until the November elections are over?

Sometimes in poker folks get tied to a hand. A hand that they thought would be good but really is a dog and the longer they stay in the hand the more tied to it they get and actually the worse it gets. It finally gets to the point that they need to just keep raising the bet in the hopes that they can "steal" one from the others at the table.

That is what is happening with the global warming alarmists right now. For now we have this story out of Australia "Climate facts to warm to" in which we learn that the earth has actually STOPPED warming since 1998 and yet the MSM and the progressive radicals don't seem to want to talk about it. Of course it is because they have too much invested in the hand already.

Jennifer Marohasy, a biologist and senior fellow of Melbourne-based think tank the Institute of Public Affairs, tell us that even though carbon dioxide levels have been INCREASING the global temperatures, between 1998 and 2002, have been DECREASING.

Duffy asked Marohasy: "Is the Earth still warming?"
She replied: "No, actually, there has been cooling, if you take 1998 as your point of reference. If you take 2002 as your point of reference, then temperatures have plateaued. This is certainly not what you'd expect if carbon dioxide is driving temperature because carbon dioxide levels have been increasing but temperatures have actually been coming down over the last 10 years."

We had a link to an article right here on NWR that mentioned how last year's temperatures wiped out ALL the increases in global temps from the last 100 years.

The Problem
Now here is the problem for the moonbats. It is that they have invested so much into this "man-made-global-warming" canard that they MUST win back the White House in order to insure that more money is funneled into the research being done by many of the pop scientists. In the hopes that they can stave off discovery of the entire massive charade.

However the evidence against the charade is mounting and I think maybe mounting at a pace that is too rapid for the alarmist progressive moonbats to do anything about it. I am not sure but I get this feeling that the MMGW charade is going to end up taking on the kind of fervor that the illegal alien issue did. It is just in the early stages right now.

I remember when I started banging the drum over illegal immigration, back before I even started this blog. It was an issue that had an incredible amount of hard evidence on my (our) side but that just was not getting out. The reason? Larger forces of corporate control who had no reason to see that the evidence of harm should see the light of day. However over time and through alternate sources of communication, the populace eventually started getting their hands on the real story behind the invasion by illegal aliens and the harm it would have to our country.

Now the same thing is happening with the MMGW issue. There is a larger force that has no reason to see to it that people get the evidence. Yet the evidence to question the canard is there. And in this day and age of the internet and other alternative sources of information, the evidence is slowly but surely getting to the masses.

It is actually happening, now, at a rate that is faster than I would have expected at this point. It is happening fast enough that I almost expect some big push this summer by the adherents to the MMGW charade to save themselves. Something like dragging Al Gore out to some huge press conference with all kinds of visuals. In essence screaming one last time "don't look! don't look at the man behind the curtain! stop you fools."

They will need to do something like that. To many people have to much invested in this charade and when it is actually discovered to be poppycock there will be a LOT of high profile people who will lose credibility, financial resources and political clout.

Eventually the poker hand will end. And if someone else in the game is actually HOLDING SOME CARDS then they will merely keep raising your bet, eventually calling your bluff. The question is, do the MMGW alarmists have enough cash to keep upping the ante until the Novembe elections are over?
