I was able to get my side-view mirror replaced on Tuesday. As you may recall, it was broken by someone driving by my car while I was up in NY for my Grandma's funeral. It was pretty expensive to replace, and took all day to do. You'd think it wouldn't take long, but the part came unpainted so they had to send it to the body shop to have painted. I dropped it off at 8 and it was done at 3:30. I'm glad to have it done...and not having electrical tape on the mirror holding it in place is worth the money (for the most part). I'm glad I put away money to cover both scheduled and unexpected car maintenance. It helps relieve some of the pain...especially knowing soon I'll be taking it in for the 15,000 mile scheduled maintenance.
So, here's the breakdown of the cost:
Side view mirror $175.88
Paint $60.00
Labor $99.95
Misc supplies $4.12
Tax $.21
Total $340.16
