Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Friday said the serial bomb blasts in the city was a "planned conspiracy to vitiate the atmosphere".

"It's a planned conspiracy to vitiate the atmosphere and to try to create confusion among people", he said."There is no need to panic. It's a planned conspiracy. One woman was killed and another four to 15 were injured when a series of low-intensity, bombs went off early this morning in Bangalore, India. The first three bomb blasts in Bangalore today occurred between 1:30 and 1:45 p.m. according to the Intelligence Bureau as reported by the Times of India. A Bangalore Police Commissioner said the bombs were triggered by timers. Officials state that they are currently interrogating SIMI and LeT operatives in relation to the bomb blasts in Bangalore today.

Intelligence sources said it was too early to say who may have been behind Friday's attacks."We are looking at the pattern of the explosions, and are trying to work out who is behind them and why," a federal Intelligence Bureau official told AFP. "We hope to find out very soon.Police said that the “low intensity” bombs went off between 2pm and 2.45pm local time today at different points in a nine-mile radius across the capital of the southern state of Karnataka.Bangalore is the centre of India’s software outsourcing industry and is home to around 1,500 top firms, including Infosys, Wipro and the Indian operations of Microsoft, Intel and IBM. One blast was in the business district, while the others were in the southern suburbs. The city contains six million people, and is one of India’s most cosmopolitan and religiously diverse.Bangalore-based IT majors also reacted to the blasts. Software major Wipro said its employees are safe. Wipro spokesperson told CNN-IBN, “Our employees are safe and our infrastructures are intact. We have asked our employees from Madhiwala office to move out early".Infosys also assured the nation of its employees’ safety. "All our employees are safe and there has been no impact on our business operations. We are in touch with the police department and will remain fully alert. We have increased security on our campus,” a statement issued by Infy said.
