Mockridge becomes News Corp Euro TV chief

News Corp has appointed Sky Italia chief executive Tom Mockridge to the additional role of chief executive, European Television.

In his new role Mockridge will oversee News Corp’s television interests outside of the UK, including Germany’s Premiere, where he will shortly become a board member, and interests in Bulgaria, Poland and Turkey. He will continue to report to James Murdoch, chairman and chief executive, News Corporation Europe and Asia.

Martin Pompadour, executive VP of News Corp and chairman of News Corp Europe, who has done much to establish News Corp’s East European TV interests, is to concentrate on the company’s radio and outdoor advertising businesses in Russia.
