Dewey Beach Triathlon

Registered for the Dewey Beach Triathlon today. Look forward to trying to beat last year's time. And hopefully get even with the ocean. The swim leg ate my lunch last time!

My big disappointment is that when I registered I found out that Parker is too young to run! So bummed because we wanted to do it together. Looks like we'll have to wait a couple years till he qualifies.

Don't let the swim whip you this year.
Keep your head down, let the water hit you where you will go bald one day. Don't forget to breath OUT underwater. Too many people hold their breath underwater. Relax and be "long" in the water - stretch and glide then pull. Or you can just come down to Montgomery Al, speak to my Sunday School class and I will give you some private swim lessons! How can you say NO to that one. C'mon down.

If you are looking for a great sprint tri that he could be a part of, try the Giant Acorn down at Lake Anna on October 4th. The swim is 750 yards but in a warm lake. It has a great family atmosphere.

THanks for the Lake Anna link! Looks like maybe there isn't an age limit. That would be awesome :)

Completed my first tri this year, and I agree the swim is the killer. I was in the water a long time, but i loved it. Cant wait to compete in another. So glad you are balancing the spiritual with the physical. Thanks for being so real.

Hey Mark-
If you guys end up doing the Giant Acorn, let me know, our Church's Tri Team is raising money for World Vision as we train for this event. Would love to have you join in the effort.
