The International Trailer

The International is Tom Tykwer's latest film about an Interpol agent, played by Clive Owen, who attempts to expose a high-profile financial institution's role in an international arms dealing ring. We haven't actually seen Owen in a film since Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Shoot 'Em Up last year and watch this trailer reminds me why I love the guy so damn much. Additionally, Tom Tykwer is a fascinating director who can pull off incredibly visceral and thrilling films, like Perfume, one of my personal favorite films from last year. Maybe this is Clive Owen's answer to Daniel Craig ending up as James Bond, since this has that feeling, but at the same time this just looks like it'll be an awesome action flick on its own.

Something about this seems weird and wrong and stupid. I don't know what it is.

no matter what's coming up, since Owen is there - it's gonna be at least half good!

Unseen ... what are you talking about? Do you mean Shoot 'em up? If so ... what are you talking about??? That was a superb little film - unrelenting, amusing, tongue-in-cheek action. Judging by your other posts on this site I think you feedback FIRST, watch movies SECOND.

Looks very interesting. Tom Tykwer is a great director and both Owen and Watts are really good actors so I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie.

Wondering if anyone would recommend Perfume: Story of a Murderer...it never really peaked my interest and when it didn't get a wide release kind of slipped under my radar. It seems to be 50/50 on rottentomatoes too so that's not very comforting, but now that Alex is saying it was one of his favs my interest is quite peaked. So yay or nay for Perfume?

He really should've been Bond, and he's a better actor and has been in better movies. Craig will never make a movie as badass as Children of Men.

I was really rooting for Clive Owen to take over the role of James Bond. I think he would have done a good job. After watching him in the BMW films I was ready. But Daniel Craig has really taken Bond to a new level. And it was he who insisted on rewrites of the character and story for Casino Royal. I think this move by Owen is a really smart one. His strength is in his ability to portray the inner complexity of a character. Look forward to it!

Never even heard of this before, but it looks awesome! I now have plans for Valentines Day 2009, girlfriend or no. I never did see Perfume. It seemed to fly through the theaters faster than an Olympic swimmer through Chinese waters. Doesn't Clive Owen just give off one of those cool-without-really-trying vibes? Like Bruce Willis in the 80's.

I knew that looked familiar. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sixmode/2851753574/sizes/o/ Same set was used in Ghostrider. Either way, movie looks good.

I heard about this a while back and I admire Clive Owen for his choice of roles... except for Shoot 'em Up. Very interested in seeing this one. Also, I was very excited when I heard the initial rumors that Owen would be the next Bond, but I think he and Craig are evenly matched in different ways to take on the Bond role.

Love Watts and looks good. Hopefully they reshot a majority of it though. They pushed this back a while ago and I know some people that went to early test screenigns and they were pretty negative.

they used a scene from ghost rider

Naomi Watts! LOVE her.

Looks pretty cool, but those cut-ins are just lame. Those shots were definitely from Black Hawk Down, and they definitely don't cut in as well as the Ghost Rider shot. They're not even in the same locale!

This trailer has no credits of the director and the production companies. And the official site (http://www.everybodypays.com/) shows the release date Feb.20, though in the trailer Feb.13. I’m not familiar with promoting movies , so I don’t know whether such a thing often happens. Anyone knows? Sorry in poor English. P.S. I'm looking forward to it. Love Clive.
